F/CE Class

F/CE stands for Family and Consumers Education, and it's a class here at my school. In F/CE you sew, and cook. This week, we made cookie bars, and pizzas. But before we got to cook, we had to learn measurements and a lot of other stuff! My class also had to make a Locker Caddy for their locker, and mine was colorful! F/CE is an educational, but fun class.

Favorite Childhood Memory

My favorite childhood memory is when I got my dog. When my forth birthday came around, I got a gift that changed my life. As soon as I walked down the stairs in the morning, I saw my favorite blanket covering a rectangular object. When it was time, my dad told me to open it, so I ripped off the blanket to see a gray cage that contained my brand new puppy!

As my puppy Jack grew, I also got more mature by taking care of him. He is a pug, and he is so cute, and ugly at the same time, because he is so soft and cuddly, but he has a really smushed in face which makes him ugly. But I still have him, to this day! We got him when he was two months old, and now he is nine years old! Jack is so special to me, because he's been with me almost my whole life, and I wouldn't trade him for anything.

Volleyball

Volleyball is so much fun! I am on the black team for Pewaukee Volleyball, and last week we had our first game. It was an away game so we had to leave school early. The game was so much fun, because it was just fun going to a different school and playing a different team! But tonight i get to play in another game, but this is a home game. I'm not all that good at volleyball, but I'll learn, and get better. I can't wait for my game tonight.

Evermore

Did you know that over 50% of people around the world can read ora’s or are psychic? Ever from Evermore by Alyson Noel is both psychic and can read ora’s so she is really lucky. The book “Evermore” was number one on New York Times best sellers! Although being psychic may be fun, Ever has to choose between her friends, or her secret gift.

When Ever was put in a bad position, she had to make a choice that would affect her life in dramatic ways. While her friends are always there to support her, her gifts are super cool to have too. They made Ever feel special, so when she found out she had to choose between them, she was torn apart.

As soon as Ever realizes that her friends are the ones to choose, that would be a good day. This is relatable, not to me, but to people just like Ever. Those people can relate to Evermore because all of those types of people have issues that interfere with their personal life.

Even though this is a choice that is hard to decide, Ever gets through it and chooses the right choice that is better in the end for her. It’s a great book and there is a whole other series, and I recommend reading it! I learned a lesson from this book, and that is, really think about your choices you make!

Gambling

Did you know that over 50% of people in the United States gamble? In the short story The Professor of Smells by Laurence Yep there is a guy who gambled on everything. This is very bad because soon he won’t be able to do anything but gamble on stupid things. Gambling is a terrible thing to do, because you can lose all your money, and more.

One day, the guy who has the gambling problem came home, to his wife, and he didn’t have any money. This made the character, Chung’s wife very disappointed in shock. I know I would be really mad and sad if that happened to me. Chung bet all his money, and lost.

I wouldn’t say Chung was lucky, but the situation could’ve been worse than just losing all his money. He could have lost his house, clothes, and much more. This isn’t something to joke about, so what I’ve realized is that I should never gamble, because you lose all your money!
